-
One Sharpie brand, Ultra fine point permanent marker.
-
One cork.
- A
sharp, pointed knife.
- A
pair of scissors.
-
One pair of Latex Gloves (optional if you're already a
nasty dirty mofo).
|
 |
-
Disassemble the pen. Take off the bottom cap and the top
where the tip of
the
pen is fastened. Remove the ink stick. It'll be a
foamy-like stick with
a
tough shell around it.
-
Now, if you want to keep the indelible ink from staining
your hands and
getting all over make sure to wear latex gloves. It also
might be a good
idea
to lay paper down to soak up the ink.
-
Carefully isolate the ink stick and cut off about a 1 to
1.5-inch length.
This
may be quite difficult to do with the knife so please make
your life easier and find an old pair of scisors to cut
with.
-
One recommendation, if you are using latex gloves, is to
squeeze out any
ink
from the large half of the ink stick, letting it drop onto
and soak into
the 1
to 1.5-inch piece. This will allow for longer operability
and use of
the
device as an actual pen.
-
Take the 1 to 1.5-inch ink stick and put it back in the
pen at the bottom,
pushing it all the way to the top.
-
Put the tip of the pen back on making sure it slips back
into the ink stick properly.
-
Next, grap the cork and cut off a 1/2-inch thick piece of
the cork. Discard the rest.
-
With the bottom of the plastic casing of the pen (it
should be gray in
color) and jab the "body of the pen" down onto cork. This
should leave quite
a
distinct imprint. The imprint allow you to know where to
cut when you use
the
knife to cut out the small piece of cork. One word of
advice, don't
worry
about cutting it too big. Do worry about cutting it too
small. The
cork
will compress, within reason, to fit into the tube.
-
Once you have your small pen-cork you can then force it up
the bottom of
the
pen while using your best judgment where to stop. In other
words, force
the
cork up to the bottom of the 1 to 1.5-inch ink stick. By
sliding the
cork
up the pen it should clean up any left-over ink residue
that might havenot dried yet!
-
Put all caps and ends back on and VOILA! You're done.
*Note: (1)The more you take
the bottom cap off it gets easier to do so.
- (2)The pen will write
for a long time without flaw.
